Information for Parents

Travelling to School

At Rush Common, we are keen to encourage pupils and staff to walk, cycle or scoot to school as much as possible.  We have bike racks available for bikes and scooters during the school day.

Some of the many benefits of active travel to school include:

  • Reducing pollution and carbon emissions;
  • Promoting health and fitness;
  • Reducing congestion in our local area;
  • Teaching road safety from a young age;
  • Meeting up with friends on the school run!

School Travel Plan

We have developed a School Travel Plan, which has been accredited to a Good level, which lays out our plans to increase active travel  to and from school.

Cycling to School

Cycling is a great way to get to and from school.  Rush Common pupils have the opportunity to develop their cycling skills through a Bikeability course in Year 5.
