Information for Parents

Emergency Closure Procedure

Bad Weather Guidance

In the event of disruption caused by bad weather the key priority of the school is the safety of the pupils and staff; this will therefore be carefully considered when making the decision as to whether the school should be closed.

We will always endeavour to open the school in the event of bad weather, as long as it is safe to do so. In event of bad weather, parents should check whether the school is open before travelling to the site.

If we need to close school because of snow or bad weather, a message will be sent to parents once a decision has been made by the Headteacher.

We will also inform BBC Radio Oxford – VHF/FM 95.2, https://www.bbc.co.uk/oxford, Jack FM –VHF/FM106.8, and Heart FM-VHF/FM 102.6, 97.4, https://www.heart.co.uk/oxfordshire. Please listen to one of these stations or check their websites for updates, but we ask that parents/carers do not contact the radio directly. We will also inform Oxfordshire County Council https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/schoolclosures.

Should the school be closed, we will try and make a decision as early as possible, and will intend to reopen as soon as we can.
