Year 4 Visit to Abbey Fishponds Nature Reserve

posted in: Year Four News 0

On May 11th and 18th, Year 4 staff were delighted to trial their first trip out of school with the children since 2019! Although a local hop, this hopefully represents the beginning of a slow return to more enrichment activities in the curriculum.

On this trip, both Year 4 classes visited the Abbey Fishponds Nature Reserve. The aim was to examine the potential positive impact of conservation efforts on the environment. Children were fantastically engaged as they donned their scientific investigation hats and identified how everything from the stream, boggy areas, long grasses, trees and shrubs all contribute to creating a healthier natural environment.
