I am a community governor at the school, and am a solicitor in an Oxford solicitors firm, specialising in Family Law, with a particular emphasis on child protection work and adoption, as well as being a qualified family mediator.

I am chair of the Pupil Support & Welfare committee, sit on the Teaching & Learning Committee, and am also the school’s Safeguarding Director.

I have lived in Abingdon since I was 8 years old and went to another Abingdon primary and then to John Mason School.  I have been a member of Abingdon Drama Club for over 35 years, starting as a junior member, and although I have for work reasons not done much with them recently, I was in their recent pantomime, and can often be seen serving behind the bar or selling programmes. Before I had Isobel, I helped organise the Arts Festival in Abingdon for 8 years. I feel that serving as a Governor/Director at Rush Common, is continuing this longstanding link to the town and community I love.

In my spare time (!) I enjoy singing and am a member of the Community Choir which meets on a Tuesday at Thomas Reade. I aspire to get fitter, and am feeling guilty that I am not out and about running….maybe the Spring will force me from my armchair? I have also been asked to take part in Strictly Oxford this year and am about to start learning some ball room and latin dancing.
