Assessment without Levels at Rush Common

Since the introduction of Assessment without Levels in September 2014, the school has used School Pupil Tracker Online to record pupils’ attainment against the new National Curriculum objectives in Years 1, 3, 4 and 5.

Since September 2015 pupils in All years from Year 1 -6 are assessed against these objectives.

The system is underpinned by the principles highlighted in the Government’s Commission Report below:

National Curriculum Objectives

A combination of formative and summative assessment is used to assess pupils against the objectives for each for each year group: working towards, mostly achieved, achieved with mastery.

Information is collated six times per year to determine whether pupils are meeting their age related expectations (ARE). Attainment is measured as Year __ emerging, developing or secure.

Foundation Stage pupils are assessed against the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile.
