The children celebrated Chinese New Year with a variety of Chinese themed workshops, including recreating a traditional Chinese tea ceremony and creating their own pieces of art using brush painting. The day began with a special assembly looking into how Chinese New Year is celebrated and the story of ‘The Year of the Rat’. In addition to this, Rush Common School was presented with a plaque from the Swire Foundation confirming that we are a Centre of Excellence in the teaching of Primary Mandarin.
